About the Artist

Virginia Stroman EwingCreative expression can take many forms, namely music, language and art. I believe that we are each given gifts and talents by God, but I readily admit that a personal desire and commitment is required to develop any gift to its full potential.

I have had no formal art education, but I continue to experiment with numerous paint products and techniques, create new designs, and develop individual palettes for each painted product. I especially enjoy the revival of graining and faux finishes.

Working from a small home studio, my designs incorporate a deep appreciation of nature, an interest in angling, and a love of horses and equestrian sports. I paint for pure enjoyment and I present my interpretations of natural beauty in a fresh, uncomplicated style. I strive to produce items that are not only decorative, but functional and durable as well. To have someone purchase a piece of my work, is the greatest compliment I could receive, for they purchase more than an item...they purchase a part of me.

Since 1997 when I began offering my work through quality craft and art events, my artwork has found homes in at least 15 states. My collection includes a variety of hinged wooden boxes, mirrors, bowls, gameboards, lamps, fireboards, unique furniture pieces, and occasionally notecards.

I am proud to have received juried status in the York Towne Chapter, Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen.
